Very important to qualify well at this racetrack. Felt if we could come here and beat these guys it would be a big morale boost for us and a big shot in the gut to them . Drivers don’t give each other positions like they used to. Everyone battling now to keep good track position, that’s why you see more wrecks now.

NSCS: Johnson Out-Shoves Busch For Second Straight Win
Late in the Lenox Tools 301 Jimmie Johnson got around Jeff Burton for the lead and it appeared to be another easy victory for the 48 team. However later that lap Burton made contact with Kyle Busch which caused a caution.
This bunched the field back up, and on the restart with five laps to go, Johnson received a bump-and-run from Kurt Busch for the lead.
Busch however made the move a little too early…

The only time it even appeared that Hamlin might not win the race was directly after a green flag pitstop where his car hiccuped when there was an air bubble in his fuel line.

Memorial Day weekend. A time to sit back and thank our military for the ultimate sacrifice, their lives for our freedoms and liberties. It’s also a day full of racing action.
NASCAR has always been a huge supporter of the military and Charlotte Motor Speedway has always done a great job with showcasing what the military does for us as well as in remembering those who have fallen. Today was no different.
Tony Stewart and a Fast Track – Nothing To Do With Race Cars
There’s a Race in Indy this weekend but it isn’t on the track. It’s at the Indianapolis Zoo! What an incredible evening. It was about 86 degrees out and as Michael Crother, President and CEO of the Indianapolis Zoo said, it is hotter in Indy this evening that it was in Namibia when they visited there. With funding donated by Polly Hix and her husband Tony Fair, long time supporters of the Zoo, and with continuing education funding and support provided by The Tony Stewart Foundation, this exhibit will open to the public this Saturday.

After the Showdown, the first three segments of the 2010 All-Star race were pretty slow and non-eventful. But the final ten laps, gave all the drama needed to make the race exciting.
NSCS: Losing His Swagger? Old Spice Leaving Tony Stewart
The Charlotte-Observer broke the news today that Old Spice will be leaving Stewart-Haas Racing at the end of the 2010 season. Stewart has been partnered with Old Spice for more than a decade, and an Old Spice brand spokesman says that the decision was based on a change in marketing strategies.
