But then as the popularity of the sport increased, the money followed too, especially the sponsor money. I have never been a fan of open wheel drivers coming over to NASCAR, they are two different mindsets and two different driving styles. Needless to say, maybe Chip Ganassi if finally figuring this out. He is officially shutting down the #40 team and reducing his stable to two teams. It will be interesting to see if Dario can land somewhere else. It is easy to say that he has done nothing but struggle at the Cup level, so who really would want to pick him up? Also, has he burnt too many bridges to go back to IRL at this point?
