Governor Perdue: Makes Case for AMS to Keep Two Race Dates
Georgia Governor, Sonny Perdue is in attendance of the Pep Boys Auto 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway tonight. Prior to driver introductions the Governor was walking through the garage area on his way to the main stage and I was fortunate enough for him to take a minute and explain how important it is to the city of Atlanta and to the State of Georgia, to keep two race dates here just south of Atlanta in Hampton, GA.
NASCAR: Tight Race for the Chase is Just What Atlanta Needs
Bruton Smith and the folks over at Atlanta Motor Speedway are surely happy coming into their offices today. With two races remaining in the Race to the Chase, only three drivers are safely locked into the Chase – Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, and Jeff Gordon.
The Ever Changing Landscape of NASCAR
As we get geared up for the 2009 Sprint Cup racing year, we can’t help but notice the changing landscape of NASCAR. Long gone are the days of the single car owner, the two car owner and the owner/driver. No, today is the day of the “Super Teams”. Teams like Hendrick Motorsports, Rousch/Fenway, Gibbs Racing, Petty Enterprises (Petty/Gillette Evernham Motorsports (GEM)), Earnhart/Ganassi Racing, Hall of Fame (HOF)/Yates Racing, etc. are now dominating the garage.
