Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Brian Vickers announced he will be out the remainder of the season due to blood clots. While the reason is still unknown what was caused the blood clots, it is still a scary situation and we wish Brian a speedy and healthy recovery.

Brian Vickers has been dealt with some very tough news in the past few weeks. The driver checked himself into the hospital a couple of weeks ago complaining of chest pains, but he had no idea just how serious it really was.

Vickers had blood clots around both lungs and in his left leg. Friday Vickers dropped another bombshell in a press conference, announcing that his condition will keep him out for the remainder of the 2010 season.

Jamie McMurray lead the first NCSC practice session and Richmond International Raceway this afternoon with a lap speed of 122.427 mph. McMurray and the 1 team completed 39 laps in practice.

Ryan Newman was the fastest in the first NSCS practice at Martinsville turning a lap of 96.934 mph. Newman and the 39 team took 38 laps during practice.

Mark Martin finished second in practice with a speed of 96.859 mph. Martin was among the leaders throughout practice.
