on

Young’s Motorsports driver Spencer Boyd will look to carry over momentum from his solid 17th place finish in last Friday evenings Digital Ally 250 from Kansas Speedway to this Friday’s event in Charlotte.

Boyd who had only made one previous start at the 1.5-mile tri oval racetrack in the truck series improved upon his 20th place result from 2017.

The Missouri native qualified his No.20 1A Auto Chevrolet Silverado to an 18th place starting position.

Boyd ran a clean race, consistently running in the top-20. He would finish stage 1 in 20th, the second stage in 18th and would cross the finish line in 17th, for his third top-20 so far this season.

Boyd will look to not only improve upon his 17th place finish from last weekend but earn his first career win in the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series when the series takes to the track for Friday evening’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200.

The 23-year old has only run one previous race at Charlotte in the NGOTS back in 2017 where he earned a 20th place result after starting 30th.

Boyd does also have a start at Charlotte in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. That start came last season when he ran the full schedule in the No. 76 Chevrolet for SS-Green Light Racing. After starting the race in 33rd, Boyd crossed the finish line for a 21st place result.

Tune into the eighth race of the season on Friday May 17 at 8:30pm EST as the NGOTS takes to the track of Charlotte Motor Speedway. The race will be aired live on FS1 or listen via MRN Radio.
