Running one less lap than Kyle Busch, the 200 time NASCAR winner, Stewart Friesen drove his No. 52 Halmar Chevrolet to the pole for Saturday’s 250 lap race at Martinsville Speedway.

Busch was two hundredths of a second slower than Friesen but was the fastest driver in his Kyle Busch Motorsports stable. His second year teammate, Todd Gilliland posted the third fastest time in the final qualifying round.

Darrell Wallace Jr., or Bubba Wallace as he’s known, is making his first NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series appearance of the year and will start 13. This is the first time Wallace has driven a truck at Martinsville since his win in the series and track in October 2014.

FOX, the main channel, will air the race today at 2 p.m. eastern time.
