MENCS: Landon Cassill, StarCom Racing Earn Top-25 in Thunder Valley

It was a crazy and wild race from start to finish in Saturday evenings Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race from Bristol Motor Speedway but a successful one for the small operation of StarCom Racing and their No. 00 StarCom Fiber Chevrolet.

Landon Cassill who joined StarCom Racing starting at Martinsville Speedway in the Spring left BMS with a solid top-25 finish. The finish was his fifth finish within’ the top-25 since joining the team.

Cassill’s finish was the 00 team’s first top-25 since Daytona in July where he finished 24th in the No. 99 Chevrolet, which is another car owned by the team.

The 29-year old started the evening in the 39th position but was quickly able to battle his into the top-30 running order.

Cassill was able to elude a lap two incident involving multiple cars triggered by Kyle Busch which included his teammate in the No. 99 Gray Gaulding.

Gaulding’s night would end early due to the damage he sustained.

Cassill ran as high as the 23rd position early in the evening and would finish the first stage in 25th and the second stage in 27th.

Solid pit stops by his crew would keep him consistently running in the top-25 or just outside of that in 26th.\

For an operation such as SCR solid finishes such as that of Cassill’s are an important part of building the organization and finding success on a regular basis.

With the cost to field a team or teams in this sport bringing home a car in one piece is monumental.

The team will look to take the momentum from Bristol into Darlington Raceway in two weeks where Cassill will pilot a vintage throwback scheme honoring Bobby Allison’s famed Miller High Life car.

In seven previous MENCS starts at the track Too Tough to Tame Cassill has a best finish of 20th which came back during the 2015 season.

Team Owner, Derrike Cope will be back behind the wheel of the No.99 Chevrolet at Darlington as well.

Cope will sport a Bojangles throwback tribute to his own 1993 No.98 Bojangles ride.
