NXS: David Starr Earns Back-to-Back Top-20 Finishes

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver David Starr will be carrying plenty of momentum when he and his No. 52 Chevrolet for Jimmy Means Racing head to Michigan International Speedway next weekend.

Most impressive for Starr and his small team is his back-to-back top-20 finishes at Charlotte Motor Speedway and most recently Pocono Raceway this past weekend.

Starr, a native of Houston, Texas has competed in all three of NASCAR’s top three series but is in his first year with Jimmy Mean’s Racing. Starr has run consistent, especially over the last three races.

Solid finishes such as those the last two events are exactly what a small team such as his is looking for. Consistency is key, as well as keeping the car in one piece.

The 50-year old has two NXS starts at MIS heading into Saturday afternoon’s LTi Printing 250.

In two starts at the track he has an average finish of 27.00 to go along with an average start of 29.5.

However, in his most recent start at the 2-mile track last June, Starr had a solid finish of 21st driving the No. 99 Chevrolet for BJ McLeod Motorsports.

Starr will look to earn his third top-20 finish in a row come Saturday and keep the momentum rolling at MIS.
