MENCS: Jeffrey Earnhardt Will Return to the No. 33 in 2018

Sunday morning at Talladega Superspeedway Circle Sport Racing with TMG announced that Jeffrey Earnhardt will return to the No. 33 for the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.

The 28-year old 4th generation driver is in his first season with the team. Earnhardt’s best finish of the season is a 26th place showing in the season opening Daytona 500. That same race he made NASCAR history as the first ever-fourth generation driver to compete in the Daytona 500.

It was announced in June at Dover International Speedway that the team would have the steaming service Hulu on board for 19 races this season. The sponsorship by a large company such as Hulu has brought money and exposure to a small, underfunded team.

Earnhardt will run the Hulu scheme which has become a fan favorite and one you can’t miss on the race track at Talladega today which will mark his 53rd career start in the MENCS.

Sponsorship for the 2018 season hasn’t been announced and it’s unknown if Hulu will return. However, it’s great to know that an Earnhardt will remain behind the wheel in 2018 with the retirement of Earnhardt’s uncle, Dale Earnhardt Jr., at the end of this season.

The news also means that there won’t be another driver added to the list of free agents at the end of this season.

Earnhardt tweeted the news himself on Sunday morning following the announcement.

Earnhardt will start the Alabama 500 from Talladega in the 34th position. The race is slated for 2pm EST on NBC.
