NXS: Ryan Blaney Leads XFINITY Series Practice


DOVER, Del. – Ryan Blaney paced the opening NASCAR XFINITY Series Friday at Dover International Speedway ahead of the Use Your Melon. Drive Sober 200.

Blaney’s lap time of 23.335 at 154.275 MPH edged Erik Jones’s 23.357 at 154.129 MPH. Both of their fastest laps were turned on their first circuit on the one-mile track.

William Byron, the fastest NXS playoff driver in the opening practice, was third quickest with a lap time of 23.384 at 153.951 MPH. Justin Allgaier and Ty Dillon rounded out the fast-five.

Jeremy Clements, the slowest playoff driver in the practice, was 25th quickest on the speed chart.

There is one more practice coming up on Friday at 2:30 pm.
