NXS: Kyle Busch wins the Virginia529 College Savings 250 Pole


RICHMOND, Va. – After advancing to the second round of qualifying from the fourth position, Kyle Busch set the pace the remainder of the Coors Light Pole qualifying efforts for Friday night’s Virginia529 College Savings 250. This is Kyles 64th career NASCAR XFINITY Series pole of his career. In addition, this is Busch’s seventh NXS pole and eight top-ten start in 2017.

With a strong qualifying effort, Brennan Poole will start on the outside of Busch followed by Brad Keselowski, Cole Custer, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

In the opening round it was Ryan Reed showing the way around the .75-mile track in the state capital of Virginia. Blake Koch, William Byron, Busch, and Earnhardt. were the fast five.

In the second round, Reed barely made the final round as he went from the top spot to the 12th spot. Busch was the fastest in the second round as Poole, Koch, Cole Custer, and Keselowski were the fast five.

Just before time expired in the second round, William Byron just to above the cutoff line to 10th as he bumped Matt Tift out of the top 12.

The only driver not to make the field was the No. 89 of Morgan Shepherd.

The green flag flies in the Virginia529 College Savings 250 at Richmond Raceway at 7:30 pm.
