NXS: Jones and Blaney Lead Practices at Phoenix Raceway

The first two practices for Saturday’s DC Solar 200 at Phoenix Raceway were dominated by a pair of young Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers, Erik Jones and Ryan Blaney.

Jones paced the opening practice with a lap time of 27.372 at 131.521, edging Blaney by three-tenths of a second at 27.407 and 131.353 mph. The top NASCAR XFINITY driver was William Bryon, third quickest on the charts, with a lap time of 27.417 (131.305 mph).

In the second practice Friday afternoon, it was Blaney at the top of the charts with a lap time of 27.423 at 131.277. Jones was right on his heels with a lap time o 27.546 (130.690 mph). Once again, it was Bryon leading the NXS drivers in the third spot on the scoring pylon with a 27.547 at 1130.686.
