MENCS: Brad Keselowski wins Kobalt 400 Pole

Fresh off his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory of the year, Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford, earned the Coors Light Pole Award for the Kobalt 400 this Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Keselowski laid down a lap time of 27.881 at 193.680 mph to claim his first career Las Vegas Pole Award by edging Martin Truex Jr. by .003 seconds.

Keselowski, the defending race winner, earned his 13th career pole in NASCAR’s premier series.

After working turns 1 and 2 a tad slower than the other 12 drivers in the final round of knock-out qualifying, Keselowski made up the ground in 3 and 4. “We were really good in 3 and 4 but we’ll take it either way,” noted Keselowski.

Rounding out the top five is Ryan Blaney in third, followed by Matt Kenseth, Kyle Larson and Joey Logano.
