NSCS: Chris Buescher Makes It Official – He値l Drive For JTG Daugherty Racing For 2017

Chris Buescher, the 2015 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion while at Roush Fenway Racing, spent the 2016 season racing for Front Row Motorsports. Starting in 2017, Buescher will compete for JTG Daugherty Racing for one season.

According to a release from Roush Fenway Racing, Buescher and the charter for the No. 16 team has been leased to JTG Daugherty Racing for the 2017 season. NASCAR allows charters to be loaned once every five years, and Roush Fenway Racing opted to do so now in the hopes of improving a team that has struggled. Buescher will remain under a Roush driver contract while on loan to JTG Daugherty.

JTG Daugherty Racing officials have confirmed that their team will expand to two full-time teams in 2017. JTG Daugherty which is co-owned by Tad and Jodi Geschickter, and Brad Daugherty, has always fielded just one single car team in the Cup series since 2009. The team痴 primary driver since the 2014 season has been AJ Allmendinger.

Allmendinger finished a career best 13th in the points when he qualified for the Chase for the Sprint Cup in 2014, the year of the new Chase format. Allmendinger finished the 2016 season 19th in the points with a pair of top-five finishes and nine top-ten finishes.

展e can confirm at this time that JTG Daugherty Racing is currently in the process of starting a second team in the NASCAR premier series Tad Geschickter said. 展e would also like to confirm and welcome Chris Buescher to the team as our driver for the second car.

Buescher qualified for the 2016 Chase for the Sprint Cup after scoring his first Sprint Cup Series win at Pocono finished the season 16th in points which is a career best for Front Row Motorsports.
