NSCS: Daytona 500 Unofficial Race Results

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Getting a push from behind at the very top groove of the track by Clint Bowyer, Joey Logano  assumed the lead late in the going of Sunday’s Daytona 500. With the lead in hand, the Team Penske driver battled through a red flag which set up a frantic green-white-checkered finish — and the frantic dash to the finish that followed — to win the 57th running of The Great American Race.

Sunday’s victory was the first super-speedway win for the Connecticut native, his ninth in Sprint Cup Series competition, and his first at Daytona International Speedway. As a result of the victory, Logano is the first driver to clinch a spot in the 2015 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup which begins in September.
