NXS: JD Motorsports Adds Ross Chastain to 2015 Lineup

GAFFNEY, S.C. – JD Motorsports announced that Ross Chastain will pilot the No. 4 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Chastain, 23, will have sponsorship funding from Watermelon.org and Helena Chemical Company.

Chastain competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series over the last four seasons. He competed full-time in 2012, capturing four top-five and seven top-10 finishes throughout the year. He captured a top-10 at the Kentucky Speedway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series last season.

“Ross has an amazing level of experience for a young driver,” said team owner Johnny Davis. “He brings a lot to our team. We’re looking forward to seeing how far we can go this year with his input and the support of Watermelon.org and the National Watermelon Association. It’s going to be a big year.”

Chastain’s family has been involved around the agriculture community. He grew up while helping his parent’s vegetable farm with numerous types of crops. They have been deeply involved in the watermelon industry around the last 15 years.

“It’s great to be involved with Watermelon.org, and we want to take them along for a great ride this year,” Chastain said. “I’m looking forward to working with Johnny and his guys and making a mark this year in Xfinity.”
