HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Joe Gibbs Racing announced Tuesday that Carl Edwards will join the team full-time in 2015 and will serve as a fourth car for the organization.

Edwards will have sponsorship backing from the ARRIS Group, Inc. on his No. 19 Toyota Camry. The deal will include primary sponsorship for a total of 17 Sprint Cup series races. Although it was not announced on Tuesday, the team said that most of the remaining 19 races have been sold. Edwards will join Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth.

“This is one of the biggest days in Joe Gibbs Racing’s history,” said Joe Gibbs, founder and owner of Joe Gibbs Racing. “To be able to bring a driver the caliber of Carl Edwards on board to launch our fourth team is just a thrill. But we also have the opportunity to announce a new partner in ARRIS that will not only sponsor Carl, but also share a vision with Carlos Slim Domit and Escuderia TELMEX to develop Mexican and Latin American drivers in NASCAR.”

Edwards has eleven years behind the wheel in a NASCAR Sprint Cup series car. In 360 starts, he has driven to 23 wins, 106 top-five and 182 top-10 finishes. Edwards nearly captured the Sprint Cup series championship in 2011 but the tie-breaker went to Tony Stewart. He has one NASCAR Nationwide series championship in 2007.

ARRIS provides the world in IP, video and broadband technology solutions. They work with over one million people around the globe. They’re known for creating digital television, delivered the first wireless gateway and creating Ultra HD. This is the companies first time that they have ever sponsored a car in NASCAR.
