NCWTS: Kyle Busch Tops in First Practice at Michigan

BROOKLYN, Mich. —Besides Austin Dillon’s win at Pocono earlier this month, the 2014 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has been dominated by the Toyota teams — and leading that charge has been Kyle Busch Motorsports.

The trend continued Friday afternoon at the lightning fast Michigan International Raceway as Kyle Busch paced the opening practice session of the weekend in advance of Saturday’s Careers for Veterans 200.

Circling the two-mile speedway in 38.609 seconds, and at a speed of 186.485 miles per hour, Busch was able to top Dillon by .004 seconds.

Busch’s KBM teammate, Darrell Wallace Jr. was third fastest in the session as he looks to continue his breakout season in the trucks.

The Toyota stranglehold continued as Johnny Sauter and Timothy Peters rounded out the top five. In total, Toyotas made up five of the top ten spots on the practice chart as another win for the manufacturer appears to be a strong possibility on Saturday afternoon.
