NNS: Keselowski Fastest in Opening Practice at the Glen

on

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — The defending winner of the Zippo 200 at the Glen, Brad Keselowski appears to have picked up right where he left off last August at the New York road course.

Recording a time of 72.123 seconds in the Team Penske No. 22 Ford Mustang, Keselowski paced the opening practice session of the weekend in advance of Saturday’s race. In his five previous starts at WGI, the former series champion has finished in the top-10 in each of them — further proving that the Michigan native will be a contender during the race.

Continuing a strong result for the Sprint Cup Series interlopers; Paul Menard, Marcos Ambrose, Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth rounded out the top-five in the session.

Up next for the Nationwide Series is final practice at 2:10pm ET.
