CONCORD, N.C. – Richard Petty Motorsports announced Monday that Marcos Ambrose will run double duty this weekend in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

Ambrose will pilot the No. 09 Ford with sponsorship from one of his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series sponsors, STANLEY. Ambrose will certainly be one of the favorites going into this race as he is a three-time winner. He also has had success there in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series where he has captured his only two wins.

“I love going to Watkins Glen and competing there,” Ambrose said. “I am really thankful to STANLEY for allowing me the opportunity to race in the Nationwide Series and giving me another opportunity to win there. We have had a good record in this race and at this track. I’d love to win again. It will also give me and my pit crew more time on the track as we hope to sweep the weekend.”

Scott McDougall will come in to serve as the crew chief on Saturday for the No. 09 team. The rest of the crew will be made up of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series guys who will also pull double duty. This will certainly be interesting to see how both the driver and crew will do this weekend by pulling the double.

Ambrose has a total of four career starts in the Nationwide Series at Watkins Glen. He has a total of three wins in four total starts there and holds an average finish of 4.0. His last start there, which was in 2010, Ambrose started from the pole and drove his No. 47 to the victory.
