Addington has been the crew chief for Kurt Busch at Penske Racing since the 2010 season. Before joining Penske Racing in 2010 he was a crew chief at Joe Gibbs Racing. During his time there he was the crew chief for J.J. Yeley in 2007, then led Kyle Busch in 2008 and 2009.

Before becoming a crew chief in the Sprint Cup Series, Addington served as a crew chief in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for 15 seasons.
