Since it’s the time of year to be thankful…We thought we’d come together as a group and share what rules and events from the 2010 NASCAR season we are the most thankful for. We also throw in here what we are thankful did not happen!

We’d also like to wish each and every one of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. What we are the most thankful for, is you, our loyal readers. It is because of you that we continue with great success into the 2011 season. So thank you readers!!! Also, to all the troops and Veterans out there, we give you our greatest thank you for all that you do. We are forever grateful for your sacrifices.

Thankful thoughts on the 2010 season…

Favorite Thanksgiving dish: My mom’s sweet potato casserole.

Most thankful for which NASCAR rule? “The Have At It Boys” policy, which helps give meaning to the term “rubbing’s racing!”

For Thanksgiving I am thankful that this happened in NASCAR this season….. I’m thankful that Kevin Harvick had a successful season, given that last year there was so much uncertainty about his status with RCR in 2010.

I am thankful this did not happen… I’m thankful that nobody got seriously hurt, especially Elliott Sadler when he wrecked at Pocono so hard that the motor flew out of the car!

Holly Blake

Favorite Thanksgiving dish: Oh ok I’ll pick one – has to be the turkey!!

Most thankful for which NASCAR rule? Wave around – get those guys outta the way.

For Thanksgiving I am thankful that this happened in NASCAR this season….. I am thankful it was a safe season. I love racing and competition and don’t mind a wreck or two but I do NOT like anyone getting hurt!! What I am most thankful for this past season was the opportunity to be a part of RubbingsRacing and learn so much I THOUGHT I knew.

I am thankful this did not happen… Carl didn’t fall on his head while doing his famous back flip!

Farrah Kaye

Favorite Thanksgiving dish: I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving anymore, but when I did…I’m addicted to mashed potatoes.

Most thankful for which NASCAR rule? The four car team rule. Gave Jamie Mac a whole new life.

For Thanksgiving I am thankful that this happened in NASCAR this season….. Brad won the NNS Championship. He fought 3 years for it. And I got to join Rubbings.

I am thankful this did not happen… Kyle Busch didn’t win a driver’s Championship. He’s not ready.

Toby Christie

Favorite Thanksgiving dish: It sounds cliche, but turkey is by far the best Thanksgiving dish. I can literally munch on turkey all day long on turkey day. There is nothing better than lounging around all day, watching two meaningless football games (Cowboys and Lions) and partaking in one of the greatest American traditions.

Most thankful for which NASCAR rule?
I am most thankful for ‘Have At It’. It wasn’t really as much of a rule as it was a mindset. Drivers all year long knew that they wouldn’t be handcuffed with penalties and fines if they showed their displeasure towards each other, and it really made for some great moments. We got to see Joey Logano call out Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon fight Jeff Burton and much much more. Can’t wait for next season!

For Thanksgiving I am thankful that this happened in NASCAR this season…..
What I’m thankful for most that happened in NASCAR this season was the action on the track was better than ever. In the past couple of seasons leading up to 2010 we saw an abysmal product on the track. Lead changes were down, the same few guys were winning it. We were in a position where I understood why the ratings could possibly be declining, but this year was incredible. Places like Texas and California even, who have always had races that were considered ‘snoozers’ put on incredible shows. We saw rivalries again, record lead changes on several occasions. In all this was probably the most competitive season in the history of NASCAR, if not, definitely one of the most.

I am thankful this did not happen…
I am thankful that Rick Hendrick didn’t include Chad Knaus in the huge crew chief swap. It was obvious he wouldn’t, I mean you don’t mess with a sure thing, and a thing that has won five straight championships. However there were several fans questioning why he didn’t assign Knaus to a different car after the announcement. So I am thankful he didn’t move Knaus somewhere else, so we can see if he and Jimmie Johnson can show that magic again next season or if someone else can dethrone him. I would hate to see a dynasty end because of a crew chief change.

Chris Smith

Favorite Thanksgiving dish: Sweet Potato Pudding

Most thankful for which NASCAR rule? “Have at it boys”

For Thanksgiving I am thankful that this happened in NASCAR this season….. A tight Chase all the way to the wire.

I am thankful this did not happen… Well, I would say Jimmie Johnson winning, but that did happen.

Dave Thompson

Favorite Thanksgiving dish: Stuffing is my favorite with pumpkin pie w/ cool whip a close second.

Most thankful for which NASCAR rule? Having a set time for the races.

For Thanksgiving I am thankful that this happened in NASCAR this season….. The final race of the season meant something in determining a champion. Great racing to watch.

I am thankful this did not happen… JJ winning his 5th straight championship…..oh wait he did….nevermind. No driver was seriously injured in any of the violent wrecks several this year.

Favorite Thanksgiving dish: Definitely southern dressing. There’s nothing better than turkey and dressing. Some people call it stuffing, I think?

Most thankful for which NASCAR rule? Double-file restarts, I’m still happy about this rule.

For Thanksgiving I am thankful that this happened in NASCAR this season….. RCR having a turn around year, Joe Gibbs bringing Denny all the way to the top, Rick Hendrick for showing us that outstanding history is achievable.

I am thankful this did not happen… I’m thankful that someone did not clinch the championship before Homestead. It was the best Chase yet, to me, because I was on the edge of my seat until the very last lap.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
