Jeremy Mayfield pulled off the impossible. He made the Daytona 500 with only 23 days preparation. Mayfield’s story is quite a feel-good story. Not only has he been kicked to the side time after time, but this time, he is sitting here as a brand new single car team with an entire crew put together from all of those laid off from other shops over the past 6 months. Mayfield was extremely emotional after the race, as he rightfully should be.

I hope this shows that smaller teams can compete in the new NASCAR. Maybe the Superteams do have some rivals, but only time will tell. This may also be a silver-lining to the economy currently looming over NASCAR. Congratulations to Jeremy and your entire team.
