Tires Steal Show at 15th Running of Brickyard
This year the true story is the Goodyear tires. With NASCAR having to throw that many competition cautions in one race is pretty ridiculous. 30+ laps of fuel and only 15-19 laps on their tires made this year’s event pretty bad. I know that NASCAR and Goodyear did their best throughout the day to minimize the damage, but overall this was one of the worst outings I have seen in a long time.
Jimmie Johnson won the event, becoming only the second person to win this event from the pole, so we have to applaud him and his team for their efforts. But I do feel that if their was a typical race, Carl Edwards or Denny Hamlin were better cars for the long haul.
Let’s see what NASCAR and Goodyear are going to do to remedy this situation.
