It is official, Tony Stewart is leaving Joe Gibbs Racing to become a 50% owner in the newly formed team Stewart Haas Racing. Joey Logano seems to be the lucky heir to the 20 car. As much as Tony has been the face of The Home Depot, I hope for JGR, that they will be able to continue their relationship with The Home Depot. Office Depot has signed on to sponsor Stewart and Ryan Newman is speculated to become the second driver in the Stewart Haas stable.
This puts Tony back into a Chevrolet and gives him the Hendrick powerplants. Tony may be able to make an impact immediately in 2009. We’ll have to wait and see.

Talk about synchronicity! Stewart is now partners with a tax cheat and they are buying their engines from another tax cheat!
