NASCAR had better issue the same penalties out to the Hendrick drivers as they have with everyone else who has had infractions on the COT. If they do not, then they will obviously be showing favoritism to the poster boys of the sport. They didn’t have any problems dropping the hammer on the most popular driver, Dale Jr. when they had an infraction with a wing brace, so why should they stop here?

Rick Hendrick is claiming that no practice and no qualifying is punishment enough. Basically, he just doesn’t want his drivers to lose points. Who cares about the money when you are one of the elite, but it’s those precious points. We will have to wait until the next competition meeting (which is either on Tuesday or Wednesday of each week) to find out NASCAR’s ruling on this matter.

NASCAR, don’t let up. You’ve made it very clear that you are the COT, so drop that hammer once more. Maybe once you do that, then you will have scared everybody straight.
