Texaco Havoline Not Right Sponsor for Juan Pablo Montoya
Juan Pablo has not exactly been making friends on the race track his rookie season. He has officially wrecked at least one driver each race this year. What happened to the days of the yellow stripe meaning, stay away? Yesterday, he added Tony Stewart to his list of “friends” by sliding up the track and taking Stewart out of the equation.
I am suggesting that Chip Ganassi Racing should pursue a new sponsor for Juan, so they can preserve the image of Texaco Havoline. Target sounds like a good sponsor. They are already in racing with open wheel racing, so they would not be new the the entire sport, and I believe they sponsored Mr. Excitement for a few years. But more importantly, Juan would finally have the actual “Target” on his hood that he has on his back right now.
Chill out Juan, let me tell you. These boys will play really rough with you if you keep pushing. If you don’t start making some real friends, you will find yourself back in open wheel before you know it. And seriously, Target, if you’re out there, this might be the perfect fit for your marketing needs.
