Woes for Michael Waltrip Continue

ESPN is reporting that Michael Waltrip has been charged for reckless driving and failure to report an accident when he wrapped his car around a telephone pole a mile away from his house Saturday at 1:30 a.m. This season just continues to get worse and worse for Waltrip. This was supposed to be his dream come true. Instead, his rookie driver beats him out of qualifying, his other driver has to continue to use past champions provisionals and he has only made one race the entire season, and that race was tainted with blatant rules infractions and a huge black eye.

To say the least, this has been a season so far to forget for Waltrip Racing, Inc. Good luck Michael, we all hope you get this huge monkey off your back. We are all pulling for you.

I wonder how NASCAR views what happened to Waltrip in respect to drivers needing to set a good example off the track? There have been instances in the past where team owners have either suspended a driver (Rousch with Busch) or drivers being suspended due to substance violations.

A tricky situation seeing as Waltrip can’t seem to qualify into a race anyway and he is a team owner too.
