SPEED’s NASCAR All Star Weekend
SPEED Channel finally gets exclusive coverage of all of the happenings at the NASCAR Nextel Cup All Star Weekend this year at Charlotte. I’m actually very excited to see their coverage. They have posted their entire coverage over on NASCAR.com. The most important things I want to see are:
-
Larry Mac’s All-Star BBQ: 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17; Replay on Friday, May 18 at 6:00a.m.: Being a closet Food Network fan and a huge fan of tailgating and Grilling over Fire, I have got to see this. I even have a few recepies that might be able to make this special…ummmmm, Bar-B-Que……..
-
Innagural Crew Chief Race: Sometime after 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19; This is a new race that will be performed on the .25 mile oval on the front stretch in Thunder Roadsters. This just sounds like fun. If you are a fan of Legacy racing or any of that stuff, you are going to love this. There are qualifying heats and a feature heat. All of this takes place during SPEED’s NASCAR RaceDay All-Star Edition beginning at 4:00 p.m. This is a must see event. Let’s see if the crew chiefs can put their cars where their mouths are…
-
NASCAR Nextel Open: 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19; Who doesn’t love watching these guys beat each other up for an opportunity to get into the show? I believe this is actually Michael Waltrip’s first win in his racing history. I could be wrong, look it up.
-
NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge: 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19; and finally, the demolition derby. This is where everybody goes for the money. Forget loyalty and friendship, just ask Rusty Wallace and Darrel Waltrip. This race always provides memoriable events that will be talked about at water coolers all around for weeks to come.
So be sure to tune into SPEED Saturday, May 19 at 4:00 p.m. to catch all of the critical fun that day. I will surely be glued to my television all day.
