Late Fodder for the Soul
Yes, “Mr. Beer Can Thrower…” Sound familiar Mr. Roberts? Now I know that everyone at the track at Talledega was pretty ticked off at the fact that the race finished under caution, but let’s face the facts. That is going to happen from time to time and we need to represent NASCAR with better behavior. Long gone is the day of the sole redneck who just sits there and goes “Whoooooooo-Hooooooooooo!” every lap. This is a sport with multi-millionaires and multi-million dollar contracts and sponsorships, with limos, helicopters, airplanes, 10 million dollar homes, etc. This ain’t no redneck sport.
The fact is, the only thing that still makes this sport redneck, are places like Talledega. Now hold on there folks, I love the Talledega 500 as much as the next, in fact, it is one of my favorite races, but Talledega DOES NOT bring out the best in anyone. I can’t stop hearing dueling banjos…. Just kidding Bo, don’t shoot the author. All I have to say is grow up. Don’t act like redneck idiots who no one respects or cares about. Our opinions do matter and one of these days, everyone will realize that. Not everyone who is a NASCAR fan lives in a trailer and has a tractor tire for a planter in the front yard.
